Free Online Virus Scan . . .
. . Free IF You Are An SBC Yahoo! DSL User
The Dashboard
Note: Sbc Yahoo! Online Protection is becoming more widely known as AT&T Yahoo! Online Protection . . . . see footnote.
You will observe from the above “Dashboard” graphic that SBC Yahoo! Online Protection is a whole suite of online security software, covering –
- Anti-Spyware;
- Anti-Virus;
- Pop-up Blocker;
- Parental Controls;
- SBC Yahoo! Mail Protection.
We will only concern ourselves here with the Anti-Virus, which was supplied to SBC Yahoo! by Computer Associates.
Using the Dashboard you can set the Anti-Virus, as you would expect, to –
- continually scan incoming files;
- turn the Anti-Virus on or off;
- initiate a deep file scan at scheduled times;
- initiate a deep file scan manually;
- scan only a section of your files
Because we (allfreeantivirus.com) are not yet users of AT&T DSL ( = SBC DSL ) we are not in a position to personally investigate the Anti-Virus.
As with all such programs it has those who claim it is the answer to everything, right through the spectrum to those who decry it.
Footnote. Brief History of AT&T
1984. To comply with Federal directives AT&T was divided resulting in the formation of SBC Labs.
1996. AT&T Corp and SBC Communications Inc joined to form AT&T Inc.
Later AT&T form a partnership with Yahoo!
2005. SBC Yahoo! DSL release their Online Protection suite.
Today (early 2006) AT&T Inc. is the no. 1 U.S. provider of broadband DSL - 7.4 million lines in service.
TRADEMARKS. ‘AT&T’, ‘AT&T Inc.’, ‘SBC’, ’Yahoo!’, ‘Computer Associates’ are not associated with allfreeantivirus.com but pertain to, or are owned by their respective companies.
