because i don't surf on those porno websites which i know there are lots of spyware waiting for me……and i also don't simply download any files without scanning it 1st with my AVG Anti-virus free edition 8.0……so is it enough to protect my pc from invading by spyware/viruses?
I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just upgraded to AVG free 8.0 and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

Yes and maybe a scan of spybot every once and awhile. Mostly just good judgment, if you avoid downloading from sites you don't trust your be alright with or with out it.

Yes/No. Get a good software firewall. For those who say SP2/Vista firewall is good enough don't know anything and probably use Norton.

BTW, AVAST 4.8 perfoms much better than AVG 8.0. It is also free and has realtime antivirus, antispyware and rootkit detection. AVG 8.0 free has abysmal detection rates compared to AVG 8.0 paid, which most people think they are getting with the free version.
If I were you I'd switch to get better detection/protection and a speedier system.
